Street portraits are a test of nerve as much as photography. Walk up to a stranger, ask, and you have about a minute to make them comfortable, find the light and get a portrait they’d be happy to see.

Over three days on a UK high street I took around 2,550 frames. The best of them are the ones where people forgot about the camera halfway through a sentence.
